Ocean Colour researchers involved in the MERIS mission can develop their own algorithm alternatives within ODESA. ODESA is able to process text files containing all mandatory Level1 data (radiometry, geometry...) and to produce output in MERMAID compatible format. This output may be uploaded to the MERMAID tools for further validation with in-situ data: data screening, validation plots and statistics.
The scheme of such procedure is:
Level1 extraction → ODESA processing → Level2 output → MERMAID tools
→ validation results
